Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this covers
Rowell Technologies LLC (“Rowell Technologies,” “we,” “us”) is a United States software company run by Bayethe Rowell. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted. It applies to:
- The website at rowelltechnologies.com, including its demo and links pages.
- The Rowell Technologies app at app.rowelltechnologies.com, our internal operations app. It covers job leads, proposals, clients, contracts, projects and a calendar that can sync with Google Calendar.
Custom systems we build for clients are covered by those clients’ own privacy policies, not this one.
2. The website
The website has no accounts, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking cookies.
- Contact form. The form does not send anything to our servers. When you press send, it opens your own email app with your name, business and message filled in. We only receive that information if you choose to send the email.
- Email and phone. If you email, call or text us, we receive whatever you send, along with your email address or phone number. We use it only to reply to you and to discuss work you ask about.
- Server logs. The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel automatically processes basic request data (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to deliver pages, keep the site secure and prevent abuse. We do not use this data to identify or profile visitors.
- Demos. The interactive demos run on sample data in your browser. Do not type real personal information into them.
3. The Rowell Technologies app
The app is used by the Rowell Technologies team and people we invite. Signing in is by invitation only. There is no public sign-up.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and role, plus sign-in records needed for security.
- Business records you enter or import: job postings, proposals, clients and contacts, contracts and signers, projects and tasks, documents, notes and calendar events.
- Public booking page: if you book a meeting through our booking page, we collect your name, email address, the time you choose and any notes you add. We use them to schedule the meeting, add it to our calendar and email you a confirmation.
- Data from connected services you choose to link, such as Google Calendar (see Google user data below).
How we use it
- To provide the app’s features: storing and showing your records, scheduling and calendar sync.
- To send messages you trigger, such as booking confirmations and contract signing links.
- To keep the app secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Google user data
The app lets a signed-in user connect one or more Google accounts so their Google Calendar stays in sync with the app’s calendar. Connecting is always optional and is started by the user from Settings → Integrations.
What we access
When you connect a Google account, we ask Google for these permissions (scopes):
- openid and userinfo.email: your Google account ID and email address, so we know which account is connected and can show it to you.
- calendar.readonly: the list of your calendars and the events on them (title, description, location, start and end times, all-day status), plus free/busy times.
- calendar.events: permission to create, update and delete events on calendars you choose to link, so changes you make in the app appear in Google Calendar.
How we use it
- Two-way calendar sync.Events on the calendars you link are copied into the app’s calendar. Events you create, edit, move or delete in the app are written back to the same Google calendar. Sync runs when you open the calendar, when you click “Sync now,” and on an hourly schedule.
- Availability for bookings. We read your busy times so the public booking page never offers a slot you are already busy in. Guests only see open time slots. They never see your event titles, descriptions, attendees or any other event details.
- In-app assistant. If you ask the app’s built-in AI assistant a question about your schedule, the assistant reads the relevant synced events to answer you. The assistant is powered by Anthropic’s Claude API. Event details are sent to Anthropic only to answer your request. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, that data is not used to train their models.
What we never do with Google data
- We never sell it or transfer it to data brokers or information resellers.
- We never use it for advertising, including retargeting or personalized or interest-based ads.
- We never use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
- We never use it to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models.
- No person reads it, except with your explicit permission for specific items (for example, when you ask us to troubleshoot a sync problem), when needed for security or to comply with law, or after it has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
Storage, protection and deletion
- OAuth tokens, your Google email address and synced events are stored in our Supabase (PostgreSQL) database. The database is encrypted at rest, accessed only over encrypted connections, and protected by row-level security so each user can reach only the data they are allowed to see. Tokens are used only on our servers and are never sent to your browser.
- Disconnecting: you can disconnect any Google account at any time from Settings → Integrations in the app. You can also revoke access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. After you disconnect or revoke access, we stop reading from and writing to that account.
- Deletion: email bayethe@rowelltechnologies.com to have the tokens and all data we copied from your Google account permanently deleted. We complete deletion within 30 days and confirm by email. Events you created in Google Calendar stay in your Google account.
Limited Use disclosure
Rowell Technologies’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. How information is shared
We share information only with service providers that run the website and app for us, and only as much as they need to do that:
- Vercel: hosting for the website and app.
- Supabase: database, authentication and file storage for the app.
- Anthropic: the AI model behind the in-app assistant (see above).
- Google: calendar sync, for users who connect Google Calendar.
- Our email delivery provider: sending booking confirmations and other messages you trigger.
We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. If the business is sold, the buyer must honor this policy for data collected under it. We do not sell personal information.
6. Retention and deletion
- Emails and messages you send us are kept as long as needed to work with you and for our business records.
- App records are kept while the account or project they belong to is active, then deleted or anonymized.
- Google data is kept only while the Google account stays connected, or until you ask us to delete it, as described in section 4.
- You can ask us to delete any personal information we hold about you by emailing bayethe@rowelltechnologies.com. We will do so within 30 days unless the law requires us to keep it.
7. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, encryption at rest, row-level security on every database table, least-privilege access for our team, and server-side storage for all secrets and OAuth tokens. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU/UK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or limit certain processing. We give these rights to everyone, wherever they live. To use them, email bayethe@rowelltechnologies.com. We will respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for making a request.
9. Children
The website and app are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use Google user data or other personal information, we will notify affected users before it takes effect and, where required, ask for consent again.
